Cross Country

On Wednesday, we walked to the cross country track. I was nervous, stretching before the race made me feel better. "On your marks, get set, GO!" Off I went running my hardest, coming round the first corner. Then, Jogging the uphill and sprinting the down. I had a good method going, until then came 'the dip' this is what slowed me down, that down, then up, was horrible. I sprinted all the way till my first lap was done.

At this point, I kept going and made my way to the finish. I was totally exhausted but proud. "Yes!" I said, as I gulped my water like a thirsty camel, after a 100 day trek across the Saharah desert. The rain was now spitting and it was starting to get cold. LUckily, it was time to head back to school. As I had brain break, I felt very happy finding out I came 10th.

Cross country training

Panting, gasping for breath, my legs were on fire, a waterfall of sweat dripping down my face. "Me haere, me haere!" I said to myself, I pushed through the exhaustion with my first lap done. I ran down the ditch falling over half through the steep part recovering only just. The air felt heavy, almost like a truck was on my back.

I got around Koka Pip, she said "keep running", it was intense, I couldn't hear anything else except my own thoughts. Coming around Koka Rozie for the second time "home stretch" she said. I zoomed down the ditch, not falling this time.

I was coming through the bollards, I shot off like a racecar "YES! YES!YES!" I'm finally done. I fell to the ground, it felt like I had jumped in a volcano, getting harder and harder to breath. A wave of relief rolled over me I layed and waited for everyone else to finish.
